The Bosgra Collection

My promotor and advisor Prof Okko Bosgra, who died last year, was highly respected by me and all of his students. What we all remember was his enormous knowledge of the literature, and we were all well aware that he had a huge collection of books and papers stored in his house. A while ago, Anna Bosgra asked Tom Oomen, Paul Van den Hof and myself to think about a good place for Okko’s private book collection so that it could be used for control research.

2014-11-14 14.30.46The collection is probably the world’s largest and one of the most beautiful, privately owned collection of books on Systems and Control.  Last week Tom managed with a number of his PhD students to store them in our colloquium room at the TU/e Department of Mechanical Engineering.

We will call it the “Bosgra Collection Library”.

We are still in the process of making a list of the books and they cannot be borrowed yet. For any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Tom Oomen. A detailed overview of the books can be found here.

Thanks to the Bosgra family!
